If you want to temporarily run away from the city and head off to where the waves are, you can easily take a trip going to Malapascua Island. The most common travel route is from Cebu to Malapascua.
Go to the North Bus Terminal in Cebu City. From here, you can ride a van or Ceres bus going to New Maya Port. The bus fare costs around 210 pesos. Then, walk to the port or you can opt to ride a motorcycle which costs 20 pesos per person. At the ticket counter, you have to pay around 100 pesos per person to ride a boat. This boat will then take you to Malapascua Island. Boat trips usually take 30 minutes to fill up.
If you’re coming in from Bantayan Island, renting a boat is an option. Boat rentals cost from 800 to 900 pesos per person and travel time takes up to 2 hours. In order to ride this boat, you must go to Santa Fe in Bantayan Island and book a boat at least a day before your travel.
