If you want to get to Albay in a short amount of time, booking a flight is the fastest way possible. If you’re coming from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila, travel time to Legazpi City will take only 45 minutes via Philippine Airlines or Cebu Pacific. But if you’re from Cebu, there are also direct flights to Legazpi, which will also take around 45 minutes or less!
If you are on a budget or have a lot of time on your hands, consider traveling via bus from Manila to Legazpi. Most bus terminals are located at Cubao, Quezon City, and the travel time from there to Legazpi lasts for 9 to 12 hours. You can also book in advance via bus lines such as Penafrancia, Cagsawa, or DLTB. Be sure to prepare some snacks and a few movies at hand!
Another option to travel to the Bicol region is by train. The Philippine National Railway (PNR) operates Bicol Express. It offers daily trips from Tutuban in Manila to Naga City at 6:30 in the afternoon. The trip also takes 12 hours before you get to your destination. The return trip from Naga to Tutuban also begins at 6:30 in the afternoon.
You can ride a ferry going to Legazpi if you are from Leyte or Cebu. The ferry trip takes about 12-15 hours via WG&A and Trans Shipping Lines. Both ferries depart from Masbate Port going to Legazpi, Albay.
