Minasangay Island Ecological Park and Resort was established in 2008 in the municipality of Balangkayan, Eastern Samar. It is a 50-hectare mangrove park and protected area having pristine waters, amazing rock structures, and breathtaking scenery.When Typhoon Yolanda heavily damaged the Eastern Visayas region in 2013, Minasangay Island was no exception. Most facilities of the park were destroyed by the typhoon, and it was fully restored by the Balangkayan LGU and became operational again in 2015.

Take a flight from NAIA Terminal 4 Airport to Tacloban Airport.
Take a bus or van bound to Borongan, and inform the driver to drop you off at Minasangay Island. This will take you around three to four hours.
If you’re coming from Taft, you can ride a multicab or a jeepney going to Borongan City. Once you arrive at Borongan City Public Terminal, ride a multicab route to Llorente or Balangkayan. Then drop off at Minasangay Island Ecological Park and Resort. The estimated travel time would be one to two hours.
Ride a bus or van to Borongan City. From there, ride a tricycle to Borongan City Public Terminal and take a multicab bound to Balangkayan or Llorente. Inform the driver to drop you off at Minasangay Island Ecological Park and Resort. The estimated travel time would be around five to six hours.
If you’re from Guiuan, take a bus or van bound to Borongan City. Once you’re in Borongan, tell the driver to drop you off at Minasangay Island. Travel time will take around two to three hours.
